Dear Chinese Kairos partners
Greetings from LSI, Philippines.
Oh, how I wish you were here to hear the shouting, the cheering, the praising…. “Reader, completed!” “Prayer Focus, finished!” “PowerPoint, done!” “Operation System, set!” Can you imagine the LSI Team’s respond?
After months of labor and weeks of super intensive concentration, one by one, these tools are ready for testing in the coming two weeks.
I am so privileged to be here these two days to witness all these happenings.
So, next week, the video script will be released. There are 6 new videos, 3 by Don Richardson to replace the present ones, a new “Kairos – the time, the opportunity” to replace “Light the Window” and 2 new videos for Chapter 6. 4 others will have small changes or additions.
After the coming testing, the Reader will be finalized by the first week of August. Roughly speaking, 1/3 of the material is changed. Someone is working on the comparison of the 3rd edition with this 4th edition. So there will be a file that tells which portion has no change, which is new/deleted, which is slightly changed, etc, along with the new material available in early August.
All the other Manuals are changed completely and they will be coming one after the other closer to October or at the Conference. As we have learnt from our past experiences, so along with the 4th edition, there will be major changes in the operation so that the Kairos Vision, Values and Mission Statement can be fully operational in all countries and situations. Linda and the team will go over the whole system with us at the Conference.
As far as the Chinese version is concerned, what we are planning to do, is that Hong Kong will begin translating the materials as soon as possible with a goal to have the Course materials ready by the Kairos Conference. Instead of Hong Kong setting the standard for the whole Chinese world, we shall let you do your own final polish to the materials. We suggest that you do print-on-demand in the beginning months while you test run the translation.
For the videos, we shall only do the sub-titling in the beginning stage, so that we can easily make changes as we test run the material. It would be up to the individual country to decide whether you would do dubbing eventually, at your own cost.
If you are planning on test running with the 4th edition in your country, LSI is suggesting that January 2012 would be a more realistic date, as the Conference will fill you in with all the system changes and go over the new materials together.
We fully understand that in some countries, due to the over stock of the present edition, you would not be introducing the full 4th edition immediately. We would suggest that you still begin with the editing of the new materials as soon as possible. You may think about how some of these new materials can be added to your existing, and the videos can be replaced gradually as they are done.
Some countries have scheduled to conduct up-skilling sessions with their Facilitators, and in some countries with the graduates as well, to bring them to-date of what God is speaking and doing. At the Conference you will be given ideas how to implement this.
Last but not least, we shall have two 1-hour sessions during the Conference to meet as the Chinese Language Group and as Creative Access Nations respectively. We would love to hear from each of you, in the first session, the excitements in your country, and plan on how we can help each other to expand in your countries via our networks. In the second session, we shall be joined by other CAN Kairos leaders to share our experiences.
The Great Commission is finishable, so be our 4th edition. Let’s go for it!
