Dear Brothers, Sisters and friends World Wide,

It is a testing time every year to look back what God have guided me, my family and the church where I serve to fulfil His plan for us individually and collectively.

The dramatic change of the form of my ministry in 2011 is the number one praise and thanks giving item top on the list. Out of the blue, while still serving as the pastor of Christ's Family Church (CFC)主家堂教會, God has used two non-Christian Chinese University Alumni to partner with me in forming a blog for advocating the spirit of freedom of speech. It is formed on the backdrop of lack of freedom of expression in some countries and some communities even here in Australia. It has become a platform for me to voice out our love for our mother land by raising constructive criticism on some social injustice and abuse of power by the governing party. More so, God gives me inspiration from time to time to share the Christian faith in a language closer to the non-believing secular world. Amazingly, God has turned me from a non-writer to a relatively productive blog writer posting 66 articles from the start of March this year. It would be an honour if you could take the trouble to log on to our blog 逍遙博-中大友論壇 at
http://cuqldfreeblog.blogspot.com/ to glimpse through some of them in your spare times. A complete list is attached for your reference both in chronological sequence and by Genre. You may notice that one fourth was written in English for my world wide friends’ base.

One of the highlight of these blog writings is the dialogue exchange with a young Christian girl who attended our children vocational Bible camp in the summer of 2002/2003. She got the gospel seed, returned to China and later received Christ in 2008. Early this year, God suddenly moved her to trace her root of redemptive grace and we have since then resumed email exchanges. Her life transformation process is the best witness for young people in China that only the Christian faith can really change the value systems of our next generation from pure materialism to a life worth living with aim and focus on more noble cause of life caring not for self but others. You may share the fun and struggle of this young lady of 21 year of age beginning in
两地書-之一(千里迢迢). God also helps me to use the blog to catch up with many other social groups that my life story can be used as a witness for His grace upon grace in my personal and ministry life. It is all good memory to have caught up with the Chung Chi College Economics Alumni and recorded in a post entitled廢話連篇(四則) . If you want to read more about our naive University life, you may choose to click this link . commented on his post in 崇基經濟系集體回憶。40後?50後?60後?We have planned ahead a reunion next May.

On Church Ministry front, it was a year of preparation. Locally in Brisbane, God seemingly is mobilizing another young growing Local Australian Church to partner with us to form a twin congregation. The two of us will build a multicultural missional church to reach out to people of different ethnicities. Crossing barriers, God is also paving way for me to continue reaching out to a special Least Reached people group, the disabled abandoned kids under the care of International China Concern(ICC). Plan is already in place for next year in May and in September to start this reach out program by providing counselling and other teaching training to empower the local community groups in China to take better care of those disabled kids so that they can be brought up to lead a life with love, hope and equal opportunity and be a contributing members of the society despite of their disabilities.

I am most graceful for the blessing of God giving me good partnerships that help shape my local and overseas ministry. With ICC, myself and the CFC as a whole have again raised over A$20,000 for the disabled kids in 2011. With Kairos, I have also been invited to be one of their Queensland Team to further the proliferation of the mission oriented discipleship course in other Chinese Churches. This will happen in 2nd half of 2012 when the Chinese translation of the 4th Edition is completed and available. It has also been the underlying guiding policy to engage CFC as a missional church despite we are small. With Gospel Advancement Centre, Cornerstone and Bread of Life Churches, God has been using us to be the core mobilization group to invite joint ministry with other churches through either the March for Jesus (M4J) annual revival and evangelistic crusade and the Sacred Music ministry through the Brisbane Christian Choir(BCC) . God has blessed BCC to bless many others including the elderly living in the nursing home. The BCC members are called by God to join in personal capacity to serve Him through sacred music. We are so excited looking forwards to the Sacred Music Conference next July in Auckland. This will be our first overseas trip as a joint Chinese Christian Choir.

Home front, I must pay respect to my mother who was with the Lord on 6/6 just without undue pain and after having chance to say farewell to every extended family members in Hong Kong. I was privileged to have the last skype talk at mid-night with her the day before she past away. My fond memory of mum can be seen in
追憶吾母 - 最後的天空網络通話 (附訃文) and The Last Skype Talk - In Memory of My Mum. My family members are all good and blessed as usual. Ling’s health is basically in good shape and under good care of a long time specialist doctor. She also spent a decent time with her mum in Vancouver inspired by the thought of grasping hold all available chance while our loved one is still around. All my three sons are now very grown up adults. So I have promised not to share their personal life any more in this annual update. In short, blessings on their work and personal life are all so evidenced that we are more so drawn to serve our Lord in the best capacity as we can responding to His calling.
Merry Christams and Happy New Year to You all!

Lastly, just want to convey our season greeting to you all through an ancient English Carol. The meaning of the first verse is slightly different from the secular sense of nowadays. Please read the remark to get the true ancient meaning of this Christmas Carol. Taking heed of its true meaning will truly bring blessings from God to make you and your family members a genuine “merry and mighty” folk to face up to life challenge throughout the year and times to come. Amen!

O tidings of comfort and joy.此喜樂安慰大好訊息福音

(*1) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_rest_you_merry,_gentlemen
It is usually given today as "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen", with a comma after the word "merry", so does not refer to "merry gentlemen". "Rest" here denotes "keep or make," with "you" as the object of "rest;" "ye" was the nominative form, and thus was nonstandard as the object of a verb. The claim that "merry" once meant "mighty," and is so used here.
